Day 22 — Kindness That Heals

Scripture (Douay-Rheims):
“And be ye kind one to another; merciful, forgiving one another, even as God hath forgiven you in Christ.” — Ephesians 4:32

Reflection

Workplace wounds are often invisible, yet deeply painful. Harsh words spoken in meetings. Credit taken unfairly. Decisions made without consultation. Trust broken quietly. Over time, these hurts accumulate, forming walls between hearts.

Scripture calls leaders to something higher: kindness that heals.

Forgiveness is not denial of wrongdoing. It is refusal to let resentment rule. It is choosing grace over grudges, mercy over memory, reconciliation over retaliation.

Humble leaders recognize that they, too, are flawed. They remember their own need for forgiveness. This awareness softens their responses. It replaces harshness with compassion.

When leaders practice forgiveness, culture shifts. Fear decreases. Openness increases. Conflicts resolve faster. Collaboration deepens. Teams become families rather than factions.

Apologizing requires courage. Admitting mistakes feels risky. Yet sincere apologies strengthen authority rather than weaken it. They demonstrate integrity, maturity, and emotional intelligence.

Unforgiveness poisons leadership. It clouds judgment. Distorts perception. Erodes joy. But forgiveness restores clarity, peace, and purpose.

Today, consider: Whom am I holding at a distance because of unresolved hurt?

Prayer

Lord, soften my heart. Heal hidden wounds. Teach me to forgive as You have forgiven me. Restore broken relationships in my workplace.
