Day 23 — Forgiven to Forgive

Scripture (Douay-Rheims):
“For if you will forgive men their offences, your heavenly Father will forgive you also your offences.” — Matthew 6:14

Reflection

Jesus connects our forgiveness of others to our experience of God’s forgiveness. Not because His mercy is limited, but because unforgiving hearts cannot fully receive grace.

Leaders who carry unresolved resentment often operate from pain rather than purpose. They become defensive. They avoid certain people. They replay offenses. Their emotional energy is drained by unresolved conflict.

Humility breaks this cycle.

To forgive is to acknowledge pain without allowing it to define you. It is trusting God with justice. It is choosing freedom over bitterness.

Forgiveness does not always restore closeness, but it always restores peace. Some relationships require boundaries. Others require rebuilding. Wisdom guides both.

Leaders set emotional tone. When they harbor resentment, tension spreads. When they release offenses, healing multiplies.

Forgiveness also invites honest conversation. It opens doors for clarification, repentance, and growth. Many conflicts persist simply because no one takes the first humble step.

Ask yourself: Have I confused strength with stubbornness? Have I avoided reconciliation out of pride?

God’s forgiveness toward you is limitless. Let it flow through you.

Prayer

Father, remind me daily of Your mercy. Help me release every offense. Free me from bitterness. Make me an agent of reconciliation.
