Day 17 — Strength for Those Who Wait

Scripture (Douay-Rheims):
“Wait ye on the Lord, take courage: and let thy heart be strengthened, and wait ye on the Lord.” — Psalm 27:14

Reflection

Waiting tests leadership like few other experiences. When answers delay, opportunities stall, or doors remain closed, discouragement whispers that something is wrong. Yet Scripture declares that waiting is not weakness — it is courage.

Waiting requires strength.

It takes courage to remain faithful when progress is slow. It takes resilience to trust God when resources are limited. It takes humility to pause when others are racing ahead.

In leadership, waiting often involves unanswered prayers: delayed funding, postponed hiring, uncertain partnerships, unrealized expansion. These moments reveal whether our confidence is in God or in outcomes.

God uses waiting to build spiritual muscle. Patience is developed through repetition. Endurance is shaped through perseverance. Faith is refined through uncertainty.

Leaders who learn to wait well become emotionally stable. They respond thoughtfully rather than react impulsively. They model trust to their teams. They create cultures of resilience instead of panic.

Waiting also sharpens discernment. Rushed decisions often require later repairs. Patient decisions often require fewer corrections. Time reveals what haste hides.

God strengthens those who wait — not always by changing circumstances, but by deepening character.

Today, consider: Am I allowing waiting to shape me, or am I resisting it?

Prayer

Father, give me courage to wait. Strengthen my heart when answers delay. Teach me to trust You even when progress feels slow.
