The Kneeling Leader: A 33-Day Devotional
A Devotional Journey into Humility, Servanthood, and Spirit-Led Influence for Christian Entrepreneurs
Day 28 — Letting Your Work Shine for God
Scripture (Douay-Rheims):
“So let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.” — Matthew 5:16
Reflection
Business can easily become about numbers — revenue, growth, margins, and rankings. While these measurements matter, they were never meant to define your calling. Scripture reminds you that your work is also a witness.
Every meeting, contract, and conversation is an opportunity for God’s light to shine.
Mission-driven leaders view their workplace as a ministry field. They understand that integrity, kindness, excellence, and compassion speak louder than sermons. Their leadership becomes a testimony of God’s character.
Letting your light shine does not require preaching at work. It requires consistency. It looks like fairness in negotiations, patience in pressure, humility in success, and grace in conflict. It is Christ reflected through character.
When purpose replaces ego, priorities shift. Decisions are filtered through values. Profit serves mission. Growth serves impact. Influence serves love.
People notice leaders who operate differently. They sense peace where there should be panic. They see generosity where there could be greed. They witness hope where there could be despair.
Your company is more than an economic entity — it is a spiritual environment shaped by your heart.
Ask yourself: Does my leadership point people toward God or toward me?
Prayer
Lord, let my work reflect Your glory. Use my leadership to reveal Your goodness. Help me shine Your light in every place You have planted me.
