The Kneeling Leader: A 33-Day Devotional
A Devotional Journey into Humility, Servanthood, and Spirit-Led Influence for Christian Entrepreneurs
Day 25 — Gratitude in Every Season
Scripture (Douay-Rheims):
“In all things give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you all.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:18
Reflection
Gratitude is easy when revenue is strong, partnerships are flourishing, and goals are being met. It feels natural to thank God when momentum is visible. But Scripture calls us to something deeper: gratitude in all things.
That includes delayed contracts. Staffing challenges. Market downturns. Misunderstandings. Fatigue.
Gratitude in struggle is not denial — it is perspective. It declares that God is still working even when results are unclear. It shifts focus from what is lacking to what is present. It trains the heart to recognize provision rather than obsess over pressure.
For leaders, gratitude is not merely personal; it is cultural. What you consistently celebrate shapes what your team values. If you only praise outcomes, people will chase numbers. If you express appreciation for effort, integrity, and teamwork, those qualities multiply.
Gratitude disarms entitlement. It quiets comparison. It reduces anxiety. It increases resilience.
Humble leaders recognize that success is never achieved alone. It is the product of grace, teamwork, opportunity, and divine favor. Thankfulness protects the heart from pride when things go well and from despair when they do not.
Ask yourself: Is my leadership marked more by urgency or by appreciation?
Gratitude Practice
At the end of today, write down three things — one success, one challenge, and one person — for which you thank God. Offer each specifically in prayer.
