The Kneeling Leader: A 33-Day Devotional
A Devotional Journey into Humility, Servanthood, and Spirit-Led Influence for Christian Entrepreneurs
Day 19 — Guided by Integrity
Scripture (Douay-Rheims):
“The simplicity of the just shall guide them: and the deceitfulness of the wicked shall destroy them.” — Proverbs 11:3
Reflection
In business, leaders are often praised for cleverness — the ability to navigate gray areas, negotiate aggressively, and outmaneuver competitors. Yet Scripture presents a different path: integrity as guidance.
Integrity simplifies leadership.
When your heart is honest, decisions become clearer. You do not need to calculate how to appear ethical. You simply choose what is right. You do not fear exposure, because there is nothing to hide. You do not manipulate facts, because truth is your foundation.
Humility strengthens integrity by keeping leaders aware of their vulnerability. Humble leaders recognize that they are capable of compromise, shortcuts, and rationalization. Instead of trusting their own strength, they depend on God’s grace to remain faithful.
Pride whispers, “You deserve this advantage.” Humility responds, “I answer to God.”
Integrity shapes culture. When leaders model honesty, teams follow. When leaders cut corners, corners become acceptable. When leaders honor commitments, trust grows. When leaders deceive, fear spreads.
Transparent leadership creates psychological safety. People speak truth. Problems surface early. Solutions emerge faster. Integrity becomes contagious.
Every ethical decision — large or small — builds spiritual muscle. Each honest choice strengthens moral clarity. Each refusal to compromise deepens credibility.
Today, consider: Are my decisions guided by simplicity or by self-protection?
Reflection Question
Who am I when no one is watching, and does that person honor God?
