The Kneeling Leader: A 33-Day Devotional
A Devotional Journey into Humility, Servanthood, and Spirit-Led Influence for Christian Entrepreneurs
Day 8 — Hearing God in the Crossroads
Scripture (Douay-Rheims):
“And thy ears shall hear the word of one admonishing thee behind thy back: This is the way, walk ye in it.” — Isaiah 30:21
Reflection
Every leader faces crossroads — moments when multiple paths seem reasonable, profitable, and promising. These seasons test not only your wisdom, but your spiritual sensitivity. The question is not simply, “Which option is best?” but, “Which path is God blessing?”
God promises guidance, but guidance requires attentiveness. His voice is often gentle, not forceful. It rarely shouts over busyness. It speaks most clearly to surrendered hearts.
Discernment is developed through consistent prayer, Scripture, and stillness. Leaders who rush decisions often confuse urgency with wisdom. But those who pause to listen discover clarity others miss.
Hearing God does not always mean receiving detailed instructions. Sometimes it is an inner peace. Sometimes a quiet hesitation. Sometimes a repeated Scripture. Sometimes wise counsel confirming prayer. God uses many channels — but only receptive hearts recognize them.
Uncertainty is not punishment. It is invitation. God uses unclear seasons to deepen dependence. When answers are delayed, trust is refined. When direction seems hidden, faith is strengthened.
In business, pressure often demands instant responses. But spiritual leaders know that delayed obedience is better than rushed disobedience. Waiting on God is not weakness — it is alignment.
When leaders listen well, organizations flourish. Decisions become unified. Conflicts decrease. Vision sharpens. God’s fingerprints become visible.
Ask yourself today: Have I created space to hear God, or have I filled every moment with noise?
